I once asked my grandmother Maude Almeda Jenkins Calhoun the question, "Who was your father?" to which she replied, "I do not know." I then asked if her mother (Maggie Jenkins) ever mentioned it and she said, "No, I figured if she wanted me to know then she would have told me." A few years after the birth of my grandmother Maude, her mother Maggie Jenkins met and married George Snyder Cable. Please!!! Maude Almeda Jenkins (Calhoun) was NOT biologically descended from the Cable family.
