DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abigail by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Abigail:
Jenkins-6193 and Jenkins-5053 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents. Jenkins-6193 has some apparent errors of conflation. “Margaret “ is not part of the profilee’s first name. It is only “Abigail.” The Margaret referenced, born in Newburyport, on that date was the daughter of George and Mary Jenkins.
Abigail (Margaret?) was more probably born in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard, MA. That's where she was baptized on Oct. 20, 1786, age 18. That would put her birth year about 1768. Marshall Jenkins and Mary Peas were married in Edgartown Apr. 22, 1767 (could be an intention date). Thx
Additionally, where is the documentation that she went by Margaret? The FindaGrave memorial only uses Abigail. The profile should probably be merged w/ Jenkins-5053.
