Catharine T. Jenkins was born circa May 8, 1823, in Wales, to Jane Jones and James Jenkins. Catharine and her twin sister, Magdalene, were christened on June 1, 1823, in Llanddewi-Brefi, Cardiganshire, Wales. ^[1]

The Jenkins family is presumed to have immigrated to the United States of America circa the 1830s. They eventually settled in the Horeb area of Jackson County, Ohio.

On April 5, 1841, in Jackson County, Catharine married John T. Jones. ^[2]

Catharine died circa April 27, 1873, near Oak Hill, Jackson County. ^[3]

• "MRS. CATHERINE T. JONES wife of Mr. John T. Jones, near Oak Hill, Jackson county, Ohio. She was a daughter to Mr. James and Jane Jenkins. Before emigrating to this country they lived at Penbrynrhyg, Llanddewibrefi parish, Ceredigion.
• "Mrs. Jones was born in the year 1823. Her parents emigrated to this country when she was around 14 years old, and they set up in the aforementioned locality. She married Mr. John T. Jones, when she was around 18 years old; she was Mr. Jones's second wife. They lived in different areas in the aforementioned settlement. Mrs. Jones was mother to 14 children, 4 deceased and 10 living. She was a member of the Calvinistic Methodists at Oak Hill, and from her demeanor they could hope that she was a true Israelite. She was affected by illness of the liver for many years, despite the effort of the neighborhood's best physicians. Despite this she insisted on following her way. She suffered silently and patiently. She left this world on the Sabbath day, April 27th 1873; we hope she enjoys the eternal Sabbath. She was buried on the 30th of April, in Oak Hill cemetery; John W. Evans preached at the burial. "
