James Otis Jenkins Birth: unknown Death: 20 Sep 2011 Burial: Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park, Sweetwater, Monroe County, Tennessee, USA Memorial #: 79502286 Bio: James Otis Jenkins Sr., age 93, of Sweetwater, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Sweetwater hospital. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army having served during WWII. He retired from Vestal Manufacturing Co. in 1982. Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years: Pearl Blevins Jenkins, parents: Paul C. and Laura Mae Hope Jenkins, brother: Frank M. Jenkins, and sister: Pauline J. Watkins. Survivors include son: James O. Jenkins, Jr. and wife: Yvonne, daughter: Dolores and husband: Rev. Julian Walton. grandchildren: Angie and Scott Skinner, Cindy Archer, Robin and Rick Bowden, Brian and Beth Shope, Becky and Jason Upton all of Sweetwater. 12 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff of Wood Nursing Home for the excellent care given over the last four years. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 22, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. Graveside service and interment 11:00AM Friday in the Sweetwater Memorial Park with Rev. Johnny Carr officiating.
