James was born about 1706 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He is the son of John Jenkins and Martha Garner. He passed away in 1782.[1]
James was married to Martha Bailey, date and place unknown. Only known son may have been Daniel Jenkins.
Not certain this is the same James Jenkins. The only common links are the home Colony of Virginia and presumed death date of 1782. If it is the same, he would have been in his 70s during the War.
Private James Jenkins, from Virginia, served as a Wagoner during the Revolutionary War in the Continental Line, First Partisan Legion, commanded by Col. Armand, Marquiss De La Rouerie, in the Sixth Troop, Captain De Uechtritz, Baron. He died on 2 January 1782 following the Siege of Yorktown, Virginia (Sep 28 to Oct 19, 1781).[2]
