Bud Jenkins
JENKINS, Carl “Bud” Lester – Age 66, of Roseburg, passed away on Tuesday, may 13, 1997 in a Eugene, Oregon nursing home. He was born on October 2, 1930 in Elkland, Missouri to Carl L. and Loma Irene (Hicks) Jenkins. Bud served in the Army during World War II. He came to Roseburg in 1948 and on August 6, 1950 in Roseburg he married Ila Welch. Bud was a tree surgeon and from 1964 until 1980 he and Ila owned and operated Tri County Tree Surgery. Bud was a deacon in the Green Community Missionary Church. He is survived by his wife, of nearly 47 years, Ila Jenkins; two daughters: Nancy Leithiean and husband Daniel, Regina Guse and husband Clifford; a son Wayne Jenkins all of Roseburg; two sisters, Marcella Johnston of Roseburg and Helen Fiegel of Los Molinos, California and brother, Greg Jenkins also of Roseburg, six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Beverly, who died in 1972. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 18, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Green Community Missionary Church. Dennis Johnston and Pastor Ken Patton will officiate. Private interment in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. LONG & SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
