After the death of Hellen's father and five of their children by 1832 in Monongalia County VA (now WV) near Morgantown, his widow Sarah remarried in 1869 to physician John Brookover and moved from the Uniontown PA/Blacksville, WV border area to Clarington, Monroe County, Ohio, on the Ohio River.
