On the beginning of the war with Spain, Mr. Jewett enlisted May 3, 1898, in Co. E, 2d Massachussets Volunteer, Infantry., and participated in the engagements of El Caney, San Juan Hill, and the siege of Santiago de Cuba. He was honorably discharged with his Regiment Nov, 3, 1898.
