Biography
Dicey Johnson was born November 11, 1837 in Pitt County, North Carolina.[1] She married Samuel Vines Tyson on January 14, 1864.[2]
Dicey and Samuel had the following children:
- Mary Adelaide "Mamie" Tyson married Allen Forbes 1864 – 1895
- Dicie/Dicey Olivia Tyson married John Fenner Smith 1866 – 1939
- William Henry Tyson 1867-1916, married Margaret "Maggie" Virginia Deans
- Eliza Absley Tyson married William Atlas Murray 1869 – 1957 Samuel Richard
- "Dick" "Big Daddy" Tyson 1871-1953, married Mary Caroline "Carrie" Fitts
- Charles Robert Tyson, never married 1874 - 1908
- John Walter Tyson married Lucia Simpson Weatherly 1876 - 1946. [3]
Dicey died August 29, 1894 in Wilson County, NC. She is buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, NC.[4]
