many chapters from 'Vikings and Virginians" stated in several chapters about early quakers and gives a history of the area and dialogue of marriages, births and meeting records etc. it is not all inclusive but strikes at the notion more than one name ie john, garland, etc was used in many related families. it was also known that close families intermingled and this where some of the connect problems lie. I am trying to only connect my direct line back and if it connects with others fine, but sometimes there were many of the same name at once. my ancestors started from this region but migrated to Clinton county, ohio area and others migrated to Kansas, north Carolina, tennessee etc. and can be all of the same family line. I have found several sites that tried to tie it together and as I progress and straighten out my direct line I will post appropriate links.
