Biography
Elmer JOHNSON was born 29 November 1871 in Warnersville, Wisconsin to John JOHNSON and Kate BURKE. He was married to (1 Ella KETTERING on 5 June 1901 in Lisbon, Linn Co., Iowa (2 Iva M. STRONG after 1903. Father of Ella JOHNSON, born January 1903. Elmer enlisted into the Spanish-American War on 22 April 1898 at Iowa City, Iowa and mustered into the U.S. Army at Des Moines, Iowa on 17 May 1898 as a Private, Co. I – 50th Iowa Volunteer Infantry. He served until 30 November 1898. Elmer died 21 October 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
