Ashley Johnson was a North Carolina colonist.

William Ashley (Ashley) "Ashby" Johnson was born on 8 Sep 1772 in Guilford County, North Carolina, the son of Robert Valentine Johnson and Virginia Cecelia (Elmore) Johnson. He was the brother of Elisha Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Archelaus Johnson, Martha Johnson, Anderson Johnson, Mary Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Judith Johnson and Elijah Johnson.

Sarah "Sally" Timberlake married William Ashley Johnson August 18, 1818, probably in Virginia. William and Sally had the following children listed in the Johnson Family Bible:

  1. Rebecca Johnson born February 23, 1819.
  2. Albert Johnson born February 3, 1821.
  3. John T. Johnson born March 26, 1823.
  4. James Massie Johnson born January 25, 1825.
  5. Sarah Moorman Johnson Born April 8, 1827.
  6. Mary J. Johnson born December 13, 1828.
  7. Benjamin H. Johnson born September 18, 1831. married Mary Jane Bailey November 2, 1854.
  8. William A. Johnson born January 5, 1835.

Johnson-2070 and Johnson-2043 appear to represent the same person because: This is clearly ment to be William Ashley Johnson as it has sources for him in the Biography.
