Biography

He was born on 22 November 1702 in St.Peters Parish, New Kent County and his parents were Elizabeth Lucretia (Massie) and John Clark Johnson, Sr.

John Johnson, Jr. married on 06 Aug 1725 in New Kent County, Virginia to Elizabeth Ellyson.

These early Virginia settlers were migratory, and made many changes in their localities of living. The Meetings also were moved from place to place.

lt is possible that one reason for these changes was the painful experience and unrest into which many were brought because as was officially stated ... "We Can not for Concience sake pay the Priests dews & other Church demands."

John Johnson appears to have suffered on religious grounds by distress for tythes, having stood against the tything system and been forced by the high Sheriff to yield. [1]

He died after 1770 in Virginia.

Regarding "Sixt Day of ye Eight month one thousand Seven Hundred and tweenth and ‘five", does eighth month correspond to October.

Yes. The calendar changed to what we use in 1752, when it was necessary to correct by 11 days. Wednesday, 2 September 1752, was followed by Thursday, 14 September 1752. And the new year next started on January 1st.
Johnson-114517 and Johnson-2064 appear to represent the same person because: dups with same parents and same wife and same son

Johnson-103868 and Johnson-2064 appear to represent the same person because: born same day and same location. However, if the children are correct on Johnson-2064, then the death date on the other is in error. A Project leader will have to approve the merge.

Johnson-103868 and Johnson-2064 are a very good match, but the difference in their death dates is significant. I'd like to see them merged, but not until this is resolved.
