Biography

Charles Alexander Caulfield Johnson was born 1 March 1863 in Nassau, Bahamas to Alexander Johnson and Mary Ann Saunders.

By 1875, Alexander Johnson and his family, and Alexander's two sisters, Emeline and Mary Ann Johnson, were living in Brooklyn, New York.

In 1887, Charles AC Johnson married Rhoda Ann Hall in Kings County, New York. They had children: Charles Jr., John Robert, James Edward, and Rhoda Mary Johnson.

Charles returned to property the family owned in Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera in the 1890s, 1900s but could not make their pineapple farm profitable. They returned to Brooklyn before the 1910 US Federal Census.

Charles A C Johnson Sr. died in Kings County, New York in 1927 and is buried at the Rahway Cemetery, Rahway, Union County, New Jersey.
