Dwayne “Toon” Jacob Johnson, age 42, of Bemidji, MN died Tuesday, October 14th, 2014 at Neilson Place in Bemidji, MN.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Dwayne was born July 7, 1972 in Fridley, MN the son of James and Donna (Emmert) Johnson. He moved with his family to various states and the twin cities area before they settled in Park Rapids in 1984. He married Erin McMorrow April 27, 2002 in Park Rapids, MN. He worked for Emerald Lawns in Park Rapids and REM Northstar and Upper Mississippi Mental Health in Bemidji. Toon always had a witty comeback. He could tell you what song, who sang it, who wrote it, when it was recorded, what album it was on and the year it came out. He married into a hockey loving family and caught on fast. He enjoyed many Wild games on TV and made fun of his wife for yelling at the TV. He looked forward to the annual family get togethers at the Boys State High School hockey tournaments in St. Paul. He loved comic books, video games, movies and music. Movies were also a passion of Toon’s; especially Super Hero movies. He could recite a line from any movie, know who played every character and when the movie came out. He enjoyed sharing his passions with his kids; turning them into “nerds” as well.

He is survived by his wife Erin Johnson of Bemidji; children Sabin (9), Cullen (7) and Camdyn (3); mother Donna Johnson of Park Rapids; brothers Jim (Chong) Johnson of Brainerd and Dave (Justa) Johnson of Las Vegas; sister Dawn (Cal Basswood) Johnson of Ponsford; mother and father-in-law Mike and Linda McMorrow of Park Rapids; sister and brothers-in-law Abbie and Matt Henry of Park Rapids and Kevin McMorrow of Park Rapids; best friends Adam and Chad and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father James Johnson, grandparents and great nephew Thomas Johnson. ^[1]
