Biography

Beulah was b. 5 Apr 1866 in Bibb county, Alabama[1] She was the dau. of John Washington and Catherine (Berry) Johnson.

Beulah would have met Wyatt Henry some time after 1878 when her family moved to Leon co. Texas. By the time Wyatt H finished at Memphis Hospital Medical College in 1889 the Beulah’s parents had moved to Kerr co. where Wyatt and Beulah were married, 29 Dec 1889[2] although they settled initially in Marquez, Texas.

Recollections of Hazel Simons: “..Now Miss Beulah (that’s what she was called by every one) was a tall, slender, gracious lady, a true Christian in every way. She taught Sunday School class always and every kid that went to the Baptist Church in Marquez passed thru her class, even me. She was not a social person, her home was her castle, but I can think of no one who was more loved and respected than she. I went to her house as a child many times, especially in the summer time, she was always tending garden or flowers and her Bible was always in sight.”[3]

Death

Beulah d. 29 Sep 1946[4] and is buried in the Marquez Cemetery, Leon County, Texas . This cemetery is on land initially donated by her husband, Dr. Wyatt Henry Seale[5]
