Hi!

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

I hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well!

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course I'm here to help, just ask!

Hi ,Dean, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your family/ancestors in the United Kingdom. I wanted to let you know we have a great new project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the United Kingdom Project will be happy to help you in any way they can.

Thank you so much for joining WikiTree. Good luck with your research.

Hi Dean,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one Profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need help getting started, check out the Help section from the Menu, top right.

Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

If you are experiencing a specific problem, you can reach out to our Mentor Team They are a very friendly group of people

Welcome, and Good Luck!

Hello everyone, My name is Dean Johnson. I've been researching my family, who came to Canada from England and Scandinavia, mostly. I've mostly been researching on ancestry.com, but I'm excited to harness the power of the internet and grow a shared collaborative tree. I promise to abide by the honor code, as all the rules seem reasonable and full of common sense

Hi Dean!

Welcome to WikiTree, and thank you for your interest.

If you just want to look things up, or upload a GEDCOM for match, you do not need to take further actions.

If you want to contribute to WikiTree (add profiles, collaborate etc.), you must sign up as a volunteer. Doing so I will ask you to tell a little about your plans on your profile page. Do not volunteer unless you plan to contribute please!

After volunteering you can sign the HONOR CODE. You'll then become a full member and can help grow WikiTree through participation in the community. WikiTree also have MENTORS in case you need guidance.
