my cousin when to school and spelled his name. The teacher said it is spelled this way. so he started to find our, how to spell his Surname, then he came to me after doing his best. I had heard my father say and remembered a lot, so I started searching and on one family surname I found 41 different spellings. So after many years in the Marines and Teaching and studying, I retired and I was giving a present and it was about ones genealogy and then I did with others for many years. After life's problems I got away from searching and traveled all over the world. Ten years later I contacted my distant cousins and they encourage me to do the DNA test. So now I have paper work on genealogy and now adding to it is the new DNA, ancestry.com and FamilyTree DNA, Family Finder, MtDNA. I am older now and do not have the health or sight I once had and I am sharing what I have in anyway that will help others. My fiends have help me a lot and I would like say their names, but I must get there ok before I do. I am willing to help others. my first help came from my father John A. Johnson born Patrick, SC Aug. 19, 1905 in Chesterfield cy and who always took me to cemeteries and told me a lot about the old folks and he had a good memory and was right. on my mother side Ruth E. Shepard born Rockingham, NC May 25, 1921. I knew most her folks and records, but not my father. here I recognized names and people I knew a long time ago and really know are real, I just did not know long before my dad had shown me their site on our visits to paces his Johnson lived and were buried and I am here to learn and shared.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:

Hi Lonnie,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

hello, I am Lonnie T. Johnson, I have been doing family genealogy on paper for decades n now I have done the DNA n hoping this will help fill in some gray area. I am willing to share and help others and appreciate any help too. I agree to help others who is on the same mission to do so. a child does nor determine his parents n we must see where we came from in order to go forward and bring as positive as we can be as many of my kin and friends have said.
