James Jules Johnson was born in 1813 in Virginia, United States. He married Mary J. Maloy on March 22, 1836 in Greeneville, Greene County, Tennessee, United States. They had the following children: ^[1]

James died September 27, 1889 and was buried at Johnston Family Cemetery in Greene County Tennessee, USA.^[2]
