Physician. Lived in Waterford, Sullivan and Brewer, Maine.
Entrepreneur: Abner introduced Johnson’s American Anodyne Liniment in 1810. This was made from morphine, extract of hyoscyamus, alcohol and other ingredients. His business grew, taking him to Brewer (Bangor), Maine where he established his business as A. Johnson & Son.
Isaac Samuel Johnson took over the business after his father's death in 1847, and by 1881, he had moved to Boston, where he opened his liniment business, I. S. Johnson & Co.
Father of seven children: Harriet Sargent, Mary Sargent, Charlotte, Isaac Samuel, Thomas Saunders, Charles Fitz Abner, and Dudley Henry Johnson.
