Born Anna Marie Larsdotter at Tofteryd Prästgård[1] in Tofteryd socken, Jönköpings Län, Jönköping County, Servige on August 31, 1885, she was christened on September 5, 1885.[2] Anna migrated from Skillingaryd[3] in Tofteryd socken on February 22, 1890, arriving in Marshall County, Iowa on March 17, 1890, with her parents Lars Jonasson and Maria Johansdotter, and her two siblings, Emma and Gustaf. [4]
She was reared and grew to womanhood on farms in Bangor and Marietta Townships, Marshall County, Iowa, attending the Hazel Green Public School, a one-room school in Bangor Township. [5]
On February 12, 1907, she was united in marriage to August Ernest Hilleman in Marshall County, Iowa.[6]Anna and August had one son, Ronald Johnson Hilleman, born February 19, 1912 on the home farm In Washington Township.
Anna passed away on December 24, 1918, in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona from complication of Spanish Influenza while being treated for tuberculosis.[7] Anna rests with August August Ernest Hilleman at Hillside Cemetery, State Center, Marshall County, Iowa.[8]
