Biography
Perseverance Johnson born abt 1599 in Moses, London, England, died BEF 1658 Charlestown, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts Colony. She married John Greene John Greene[1]
The History of the First Church, Charlestown (1845) describes a memorial stone on the "burying hill" in Charlestown bearing the following inscription:[2]
Here lieth the body of Mr John Greene born at London in Old England who married Perseverance the daughter of [name not legible] Johnson in Amsterdam by whom he had six children; with whom and their children he came to Charlestown in New England in 1632, was ruling elder of the church, and deceased April 22, 1658, aged 65, leaving behind two sons and one daughter, viz, John, Jacob, and Mary, who erected this monument to the memory of him and his wife, their father and mother.

Surely the NEHGS Great Migration Project was familiar with the Charlestown church history -- I wonder why they didn't mention it in connection with her birth name.
In the Great Migration Begins (vol 2, page 812), Anderson says her birth name is unknown, and no evidence has been found for Savage's claim that she was the daughter of Francis Johnson.
