Hi Lorin,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi

Saw you changed from Skåne to Malmöhus on Jöns. Today we use Skåne. Before Malmöhus => if you ask people in real life then its Skåne, if you ask a person doing genealogy then its Malmöhus ;-)

If you are intrested we can do a webhangout and I can walkthrough what I have found......

You need a google email and can email me on [email address removed] I have followed Elna and it feels like a tough life. Start working at 15 years and then got a child with father unknown. Moved back home to her mother that was said in the records miserable poor ("utfattig") living as a widow with more children....

Feels like the trip to the States was the dream of a better life....

One newspaper clipping says Joliet Herald-News Illinois Sep 6 1957 That Johnson Nels A Johnson Age 65 of 417 Thornton St Lockport, IL died in Silver Cross hospital Who he is survived by, he was a veteran of world war 1, Services at the Goodale funeral home, but remains will be shipped to Madison Minnesota for bural.

Another says Nels A Johnson Nels A. Johnson of 417 Thornton St Lockport, IL Died Friday September 6 at 7:42 am at Silver Cross Hospital of head injuries suffered at 9 am Thursday evening while working with the Tellepsen Petro Chemical Construction Company of Houston Texas, at the Pure Oil Company refinery at Lamont IL Coroner Willard Blood said that Mr. Johnson died from a skull fracture. He was struck on the back of the head with an A-frame truck winch. Mr. Johnson was born in Malmo, Sweden, on July 27 1892. He came to this counry in 1913 and resided at Hanley Falls, and Granite Falls before entering world war 1. He returned to the United States in October 1920, and united to marriage to Minnie (Mina) Hagenstande. In 1925 they moved to Illinois. Then it goes on and says whos he's survived by.

He have no social security number that I can find,

www.wallofhonor.com The only thing that I can come across the web was that his name is on a wall in Ellis Island in New York Name: Nils A. Johnson Panel 662

On his wifes family history it has his name being Nils A. Johnson, but no information on him, except date of birth, and birth place being Sweden.

At the library where we live, I found his son in a census, but not him. It didn't give much info.

And that isn't much to go on.
