Flossie May Johnson is born in 1906 in or near Stroud, New South Wales, Australia the daughter of Arthur Johnson (1884-1965) and Myra Jane Shearman (1885-1955).[1] Stroud is 75 kilometres north of Newcastle.
At some point (early 1920s?) her parents move to Queensland and it is likely that Flossie moves with them.
On 8 Jan 1930 Flossie marries Arthur Francis Durston in Atherton, Queensland. [2] Atherton is a short distance southwest of Cairns. After the wedding the couple live in various places in Queensland. In one record (electoral roles), Arthur’s occupation is shown as a cane cutter.
Something goes wrong with the marriage and in 1953 the marriage is ended (the judgement appears to say that the dissolution was granted to Arthur on the grounds of desertion – in other words, it appears that Flossie left Arthur).
Sometime (presumably after 1953) Flossie marries Cyril James Fuge (1910-2001).
Flossie died in Queensland on 16 December 1981.[3][4]
