Biography
Robert was born in Leek in 1888 , his mother died of consumption when he was only 6 years old . Robert was an apprentice Baker and later a Van driver , he moved to Salford in Lancashire after he married and worked as a shunter on the docks ,he later became a yard inspector for British Railways .
