Biography

Died in a mid air collision between Caudron G-lll 3282 (F S-LT Alexander) and Short S-38 #65 (F S-LT Keith-Johnson.)

MacFie was born in 1898 at Lee Green in London. He was the son of Robert Keith-Johnston and Jessie MacFie. At the time of the 1911 census, he was attending Temple Grove School at Eastbourne, Sussex. [1]

He died during World War I. He held the rank of Flight Sub-Lieutenant as a member of the Royal Naval Air Service. He died at Sheppey 12 September 1915 in an accidental mid-air collision. His remains were buried at Sheernes Cemetery. He died within a month of his older brother, David. It must have been a terrible time for the family.[2][3]
