• Frederick Johnston was born in 1756. Frederick Johnson was a soldier in the American Revolution. ^[1] The Daughters of the American Revolution honored him by naming him as DAR Ancestor Number A208060. He applied for Revolutionary War Pension in 1821: Will Graves transcribed the application.^[2]

In 1786, Frederick married Eda Unknown. They were the parents of several children:

Notes

• In his pension application papers, he states that he enlisted in the 2nd South Carolina Regiment and was in the company of Captain William Mason and then transferred to the company of Captain John Blake. He served from Nov 1775 to July 1778, including at the defense of Fort Moultrie in 1776.

He received a pension of $8/month, which is actually more than a private was paid during the war.He further stated that he was a resident of Rutherford County NC for 31 years as of 1821, and was 66 years of age. He can be found in the 1800, 1810, and 1820 censuses of Rutherford County.
