In the 1880 US census, Samuel M Johnson (17, born Ohio) was living in White, Tennessee, with parents R S Johnson (63) and Mary Johnson (44), and siblings Deborah Ann (15), Eliza A (12) and George P (10).[2]
In the 1900 US census, Samuel M Johnston (38) was living in Springfield, Hamilton, Ohio, with wife Carrie M Johnson (28) and children George E (11), Frederick (8), Alma (6) and Mary L (2).[3]
