Biography

Violet was born in 1543. She was the daughter of William Johnston of that ilk laird of Caskieburn and Margaret Hay. She passed away in 1590. ^[1]

Per birth brieve of her grandson she is daughter of William Johnston of that ilk laird of Caskieben (killed in battle of Pinkie 1547) and a daughter of the laird of Delgatie Hay (Margaret daughter of William Hay 7th of Delgatie ) and has George who becomes Sheriff Clerk of Banff and Elizabeth (mother of Adam Gordon principal and professor of the Greek tongue in the college of Mell in France).

Also has a son Thomas

Alexander Hay is a scion of the Hays of Errol.
