GEORGE JOHNSON served in the Virginia Militia, enlisted in Culpeper County, Virginia as a private in the Virginia Militia. George was born 1 Feb 1758 in Culpeper, Virginia, the son of William and Sarah Johnston-Johnson. (Pension R5612). His widow, Frances, lived in Tennessee, papers were sent to the 3rd Auditor and never returned. Made affidavit on behalf of his brother Martin Johnson in 1840, when George was 87 yrs old. [1]
