The Jones story begins in Ireland-Wales in 1660. The Jones were of the Friends AKA Quaker group who were ostracized in their home country and forced to look for a better place to practice their faith. They moved in the early 1700 to America first going to Pennsylvania then on to Georgia. Around 1800 a large group of Jones family moved to Ohio for new free farm land. The new generation born in Ohio begin pulling away from the Quaker faith and migrating to other parts of America. The detailed Quaker records of this group are prolific and a bit difficult to track and record and I will offer some insight to this family.
