Robert was born in 1854. Robert and Elizabeth came to Australia in 1881 leaving Mary (their first born) with Elizabeth's parents in Wales. Mary was to come to Australia after 1891 as she was still with her Grandparents (Williams) when the 1891 census was carried out. The family lived in Gympie, Queensland where most of the children attended the Gympie Primary School.
Robert Jones died in Kalgoorlie Boulder, he worked on the mines, came over from Gin Gin following the gold rush.
His Wife Elizabeth Jones followed later with the children. He is buried with his Brother John in the Kalgoorlie Cemetery ... [1]
Item Details: In Loving Memory of my dear husband Robert Jones late of Gympie, Queensland who died 5th Jan 1908, Aged 52 years. Also John Elias Jones 13th August 1929. Aged 72 years[11].
