In the 1950 census J (age 60), Laborer, was the married head of household in Putnam, Tennessee, United States.[5]
J H Jones 60 years, wife Ethel Jones 47 years, daughter Viola Jones 15 years, daughter Betty Ann Jones 11 years, daughter Nancy Jones 8 years, son Ronnie Jones 3 years.
John died on December 31, 1977 in Tennessee, aged 87. He was buried in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Putnam County.[6][7]
