Biography

Elizabeth Jones is the daughter of Francis Albrighton Jones & Julia. ^[1] She was called daughter, Elizabeth Melton, in the father's will. ^[2]

Elizabeth Jones married John Melton 1 Oct 1763 in Edgcomb County, North Carolina. ^[1]

Elizabeth is listed in the will of her husband. John Melton's Will was written 1797 and provided in court Aug 1800. Siblings received equal division of the estate David Melton, Matthew Melton, Joseph Melton, Fereby Melton, Ann Melton, Cooper Melton and Mother Elizabeth Melton. bequeathed before division: Son Cooper Melton receives 150 acres. Thomas Melton receives plantation where father now lives containing 146 acres. Wife Elizabeth her choice of one feather bed and furniture. Daughter Mary Hart 5 shillings. ^[3]
