Biography

Sarah Jones, daughter of Joseph and Patience (Little) Jones, was born in Hingham, Massachusetts, 12 Sept 1671[1] ; and died after 10 July 1752.[2]

She married (1) in Plymouth 22 Nov 1694 John Doty (c1639-1701).[3][2]

They had children:

  1. Sarah b. 1695/6; d. 1701-10[2]
  2. Patience b. 1697 d 1784; m. Kenelm Baker[2]
  3. Desire, b. 1699; d after 1727; m. 1722 George Barrows[2]

As Sarah Doten, she married (2) Joseph Peterson in Plymouth 23 August 1704.[4][2] They also had children:

Child Peterson??, b. about 1705 died young[2]
Joseph Peterson, b. about 1708[2]
Sarah Peterson, b. about 1710.[2]

Her Uncle John Jones of Marshfield named her in his will dated 21 May 1720.[2]

An accounting of Joseph Peterson's estate was made on 10 July 1752. Goods were set off for the widow, implying that she was still alive that July.[2]
