His paternal grandparents were Peter Jones and Margaret (step-daughter of Abraham Wood).
In 1718 he made a deed as "Peter Jones, Jun., son of Abraham Jones", [1] along with his wife, Mary Jones [his 2nd cousin, daughter of Peter Jones (d: c1721) & Mary Batte].
He and his wife, Mary, were mentioned in her father's 1721 Will. [2]
He died about 1734 in Dinwoodie County, Virginia.
Deed
"Cadwalader Jones of Williamsburgh to Peter Jones of Prince George Co. £200 VA. An undivided moiety of 744 acres which was devised to said Cadwalader Jones by the will of his father, Peter Jones, dated 26 Oct 1734 as recorded in Prince George Co. & as by a 974 acres patent to the said Peter Jones, the father, dated 2 Nov 1726 (part of the said patent, Peter Jones, the father, conveyed to William Wynne), on the south side of Nottaway River, joining Robert Lyons, William Davis."
witnesses: Fredk. Jones, Burgess Wall, David Holt, William Jones.
According to one biographer, Peter Jones married his cousin, Mary, daughter of Major Peter Jones (Abram's brother) and Mary (Wood) Jones, daughter of General Abram Wood (Henrico papers) [4]
It is much more likely that Abram's son, Captain Peter Jones married Mary, daughter of Captain Peter Jones, Jr. son of Major Peter Jones, Sr. and Mary Batte, his wife, in which case they would be second cousins.

Jones-56944 and Jones-24585 appear to represent the same person because: these profiles represent the same Peter Jones but his parents are disputed. I am not able to access citations that support Jones-38514 as father, so I favor Jones-8758 as father. I recommend merging, retaining parents attached to Jones-24585 (I added a disputed parents section to Jones-56944 that has links to the other father). Thanks!
Hi! Could you site source for "Captain Peter Jones is the son of Abram (aka Abraham) Jones, who died October 7, 1719 in Bristol Parish, Henrico, Prince George county, Virginia."
RBB Papers* say this Peter is son of Abraham, son of Peter and Margaret - the Peter named in his grandmother's 1718 will as son of her deceased son Abraham.

Liz, I’m checking my Jones family sources, working on sorting out all the Joneses, Peters, Marys..... checking my original copy of A.B. Fothergill's Peter and Richard Jones Genealogies.
