Biography

David was born in New York State in 1917 to Mae (Marsh) Jones (later Deil).^[1][2][3] His father was probably a man named Daniel Jones, whom Mae had married in 1916.^[4] David used the last name Jones in the 1930 Census but otherwise used the last name Deil for the rest of his life.^[5] "Deil" came from his step-father Baltimore Deil, whom Mae married in 1923.^[6] It is unknown what happened to Daniel, but family history is that he ended up returning to his native Wales and never coming back.

David grew up in Lockport, New York but may have been born in Niagara Falls.^[7][8][9]

He married Josephine Palisano in 1940.^[10] They had four children. David worked for the General Motors Corporation at their Harrison Radiator Division.^[11] He greatly enjoyed bowling, golf, and other team games.^{[12][13][14][15][16]}

David died of cancer in 1967 at only 47 years old. He is buried in Cold Springs Cemetery in Lockport.
