Thomas Valentine Jones ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]} was born, probably, on February 14, 1855, in Utica, Oneida County, New York, or possibly in Wisconsin. ^{[4][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14]}

Thomas Jones and Mary Erath were issued a marriage license in Dodge County, Minnesota on December 12, 1891. ^[1] They were married on December 15, 1891 in Cherry Grove, Goodhue County, Minnesota by Charles B. Fosbroke, an ordained minister. ^{[1][7][9][11]} The wedding was witnessed by Mreula Erath [difficult to read] and Lenard [sic] Erath.
