Walter H. Jones Jr. was born September 29, 1947 to the union of Walter H. Jones Sr. and Jewell A. Rhodes. He lost his battle to cancer on September 22, 2014 at the age of 66, just one week shy of his 67th birthday. Walt was the first of six children. He was preceded in death by his mother Jewell A. Jones.

Walt graduated from Hayward High School in 1965. All who remember Walt will undoubtedly remember his rainbow colored Chevy Super Sport. Walt loved cars and racing. He also loved all types of sports. Young Walt and his cousin Tony Nelson would often go to old Roller Derby games. Later he became an avid life-long Oakland Raider fan. His one hope was that the Raiders could win just one more super bowl championship. Later in life Walt started a landscaping business. You will remember Walt was very good at taking care of grass and caring for his client's lawns.

We will always keep in our hearts the memory of Walt. He was always the first one to offer his help and assistance to others. His favorite meal was "Fried Chicken and a Coke." To his family he was known as "Baby Jr.", to his friends he was known as "Cook". We will always love Walt.

Walt leaves to mourn him his father Walter Jones Sr., his aunt Margaret Boyette, his siblings Max, Regina, Robyn, Bryon and Marty and their respective spouses; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. ^[1]
