Andrew Bird Jones was born 22 Oct 1768 in Augusta County, Virginia, son of John Jones and Elizabeth Bird.[1]
He married Sarah Cain 11 September 1793 in Bourbon County, Kentucky.[2]
Supposedly served in the war of 1812.[citation needed]
There is one Andrew B. Jones in the 1840 US census in Bush Creek Township, Scioto County, Ohio.[3] Is it him? Likely not, as the only adult male in the household was age 30-40 (therefore born btw 1800-1810); since no other male older than this, this male is likely "Andrew Bird Jones, Jr." born 25Jan1806, and therefore too young to be Andrew Bird Jones, the father.
He died 19 July 1841 in Adams County, Ohio, where he is buried at the Moores Chapel Cemetery.[4][5]
Andrew was born in 1768. He passed away in 1841.
Parents were John Jones & Elizabeth Bird
Corrected birth date from Find-a-Grave # 60589167

Sarah Cain's husband, Andrew Bird Jones was in fact the son of John Jones and his mother Elizabeth was born about 1740. These latter numbers match up much better.
I would like to request that this Andrew Bird Jones be disconnected from Sarah Cain. If not, then he needs to be disconnected from Moses Wheeler Jones and then merged with Jones-958.
Yep, "The Descendants of Nicholas Cain: 1736-1986" by Cain and Evans, 1986, page 24. "Andrew Bird Jones, the husband of Sarah Cain, was born in the frontier area of southwest Virginia and was the son of John Jones and Elizabeth Bird. There is some thought that Andrew's father, John, was a bound boy in the family of Andrew Bird and upon obtaining his freedom, he married his sponsor's daughter, Elizabeth. This is romantic speculation and requires additional research. But there is no doubt as to the industrious character of Andrew, as the history of Adams County, Ohio will attest." From this source, John Jones is correct. Does anyone have access to the Adams County, Ohio history book mentioned?
