Sarah (Jones) Branson (1763 - 1841)

I believe that this John Branson married Susannah Ratcliff (Ratliff ) in Ross Co Ohio ,going by memory it was 1810 Susannah was the widow of John Ratcliff who she married in 1807 again going by memory in Ross Co Ohio ,John Ratcliff died a few months later .I believe Susannah was a widow when she married John Ratcliff ,believe she was the widow of William Poe ,who died in Chatham Co in 1799 .Susannah and husband William lived in the same neighborhood as both Branson and Ratcliff ,in Chatham Co NC on or near the Randolph Co line ,near Siler City .I believe both Ratcliff and Branson and Susannah were part of a huge group of people migrating to Ohio about 1804 Susannah would have had two grown sons ,and five others a couple of them teens or pre teens ,Susannah born about 1763 parents unknown ,but suspect that her family would have been with those migrating ,my ancestor son John W POe and Jeremiah Poe among them ,also a Mary Vestal is a known sister she married Nathan Vestal .

Part of my research shows Susannah and John in Sangamon Co.Illinois .nearby is a Mary Vestal ,this name rang a bell as my ancestor also a Mary Vestal from the old county of Chatham ,she had in her home two children Nathan and Lemuel Vestal curious I did a quick look and found Mary Poe married Natahan Vestal in 1810 near Ross Co Ohio ,this surely was one of those kids of William Poe and Susannah ,then a bit later in Illinois Mary Vestal is in Fulton Co .and listed are her two sons Nathan and Lemuel also Anthony G Poe and wife .This Anthony G Poe is the known son of John W POe the son of Susannah and William Poe .It very much appears to me as if she moved to Sangamon to be near Mom Susannah Branson ,I have been searching for years for the maiden name of Susannah Poe ,have no clue other than I believe her siblings or even parents in the group that migrated to Ohio ,its just not likely that she would have travelled there with 7 kids alone even though a couple were young adults .any clues verifying my theory ,or figuring out who Susannah was before marriages is appreciated
