Biography

John's father, Israel, died in 1845. His mother remarried John Wallace a few years later. He adopted John and his sister Julia, giving them his last name.

Note: In the 1870 census, the entire family's last name was mistakenly listed as Walles, making it difficult to find them.

So far no marriage or death certificates have been found for John.

Date of birth differs on the census reports and family Bible, from 1841 to 1843.
