Thomas H. Jones was born 8 Jan 1801 (calculation based on exact age at death).[1] His parents were Benjamin Jones and Phebe Burroughs.[2]
His grandfather Thomas Jones was born in Wales and came to Quaker Hill, Pawling, Dutchess County, New York. He was a doctor and a preacher. "This old Welshman died in the winter time, in a house that stood on a rocky ledge over near John Worden's, and the neighbors carried the body on a hand sled across the intervening miles of drifts, to the Quaker Hill burying ground."
Thomas, the subject of this article, was received on request at the Oblong monthly meeting on 16d 12m 1822 [16 Dec 1822].[3] He married Martha Hinman, daughter of Zachariah and Sarah Hinman of Patterson, on 23d 11m 1826 [23 Nov 1826].[2]
He died 21d 1m 1841, aged 40 years and 13 days.[1]
