Irma M. Pfeiff, 95, of West Burlington died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at her home.
Born Jan. 1, 1915, in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Ira and Amelia Niemeier Jones. On Feb. 21, 1942, she married John G. Pfeiff in West Burlington. He died March 11, 1992.
Mrs. Pfeiff was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She taught school at Sperry and Sherman School Districts and worked as a substitute teacher in Burlington and West Burlington.
She graduated from Burlington High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, King's Daughters and the women's fellowship at her church. She enjoyed helping on the family farm, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
