Jones-38503 and Jones-8771 appear to represent the same person because: both of these profiles were attached as son of a duplicate profile for Margaret, the wife of Peter Jones. They did not have a son named Thomas, so I'm detaching both. The gedcom upload that included Jones-38503 had an odd habit of giving profiles a lifespan of less than 5 years (1-3 usually), so I would discount the dates in that profile. I did not want to just cut these profiles loose on their own, but I don't find where they might belong (no Thomas Jones in Bristol Parish Register except Thomas son of Thomas & Tabitha Jones, born 1740... and that might be a mistake, they might be Thomas & Tabitha Jacobs - see an earlier entry on the same page, page 325).

According to Wikipedia first British settlement in what is now Tennessee was in 1756. It is unlikely Thomas was born in Tennessee.
