Elizabeth was the first born child of the convict Tom Jones. She was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia about March 1796 according to her death notice in the Sydney Morning Herald. Her mother's name may have been Mary, but this is not certain.
Her half brother was John Jones the whaler and first-settler of Waikouaiti, New Zealand (this is noted in her death notice).
She married Isaac Moore on 17 October 1825 at St Philip's Anglican Church, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He was also a convict.
Elizabeth and Isaac had four known children, all sons.
She died at her residence, the Customs House Hotel, Argyle Street, Sydney, on 23 October, 1872 aged 79 years and 7 months.
