Biography

Sarah (surname unknown), wife of Rev. John Jones of Fairfield, Connecticut, was born about 1601 in England, possibly in Northamptonshire, where her husband grew up. She married by 1619, Rev John Jones. They had ten children. The eldest child, Sarah, was born about 1619/20.[1] Their next five children were baptized at Abbot's Ripton, Huntingdonshire, the following three were baptized at St. Stephens, Coleman Street, London, and the last and youngest was born at Concord, Massachusetts, in January of 1640/01.[1] "Records of the marriage of John Jones and his wife Sarah... have not yet been located" [1996].[1]

She was age 34 when she arrived on the "Defense" 18 July 1635, with her husband and children.

Sarah died before Rev John Jones married his second wife, Susannah, widow of Arthur Holbidge (wedding between 1659-1665).[2]

Jourdain-292 and UNKNOWN-50340 appear to represent the same person because: Birth years, locations and names

Jourdain-292 and UNKNOWN-50340 are not ready to be merged because: I do not see any sources for Sarah Jones to have the daughter listed on Jourdain-292, Anna Jones Sheen. I agree these are the same woman, but we need to find records of Anna Jones Sheen before merging. Agreed?
Jourdain-292 and UNKNOWN-50340 do not represent the same person because: The birth year is different.

The birth year is 1601 on both profiles, perhaps you were looking at different profiles..?

Jourdain-292 and UNKNOWN-50340 are not ready to be merged because: Changing back to unmerged match. Same birth year, both in England. Same death info. Same married name. No sources show last name should be Jourdain, no source shown for daughter Anna Jones Sheen on -292. More research required to confirm/rule out whether or not these are the same person

Actually death year is wrong. So maybe not the same person.

UNKNOWN-146360 and UNKNOWN-50340 appear to represent the same person because: these two profiles, wife of Rev John Jones, are clearly the same person. Let's merge them!
I have made it so.

I agree Anne - London is not logical the birth location for Sarah. TAG Vol 71 (1996), pages 52-54, an article on "The Rev. John Jones of Fairfield, Connecticut, states:
John Jones is known to have lived in Northamptonshire (as a child) and Peterborough, Northamptonshire (as deacon after college), Abbots Ripton (as Rector), county Huntingdon, where his first eight children were born, and the parish of St. Stephens in London, where his next three children were born.

Sarah was not necessarily born where her children were born. I think it is possible she was born in Northamptonshire. We can be pretty sure "England" is a safe guess.

I think "England" in the Vitals section, and "possibly in Northamptonshire" in the text.

Your thoughts?

Birth- London ??? The Defense left from London, but children by the first wife were born co. Huntingdon. I don't see the logic in London. I think it should be changed back to just England, especially considering the "My Heritage" source used. Thoughts? Objections?
