1953 Sep 30 From Miss Bertha Jonsson, Lyckaker Snostorp, Halmstad, Sweden [translated by Helen Ulmann]
to Mrs. Olive Prentice 1719 Burnside Ave., Los Angeles 19, California
Dear Olive,
Thank you for your letter. Your mother and my mother were cousins. We are second cousins. Your mother's parents do not lie buried in the Snöstorp Churchyard. They are in Trönninge, nearest our church. Your mother's sister, Johanna, is buried at our churchyard. She lies next to her mother's brother who was my mother's father, together with my mother's mother. We have cousins in Kansas City who are not relatives with you as we are. Our mother's sister is dead. Johanna was such a nice pleasant sensitive person who often used to walk to greet us. Your mother was christened and confirmed at the Trönninge Church. Her parents lie there. You would be welcomed to visit your mother's fatherland. It is beautiful here and well ordered. Greetings from Alma & Karl. Give greetings to Astrid Soderstrom [perhaps Ollie's translator?]. Bertha
