Biography
Johan Erik Johansson was born on April 24, 1798 in Frödinge parish in Kalmar län (province of Småland) in Sweden.
He married Anna Jonsdotter. They had five children:
- Johan Peter Eric b. 1832
- Nils Fredrik Wilhelm b. 1834
- Johanna Christina b. 1837
- Emeli Josephina b. 1840
- Bror Jonas Otto b. 1844
The whole family emigrated to the United States in 1846. They are noted to have had their parish travel passes issued on May 8, 1846.[1]
They arrived to Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, United States on October 7, 1846 on the Swedish Brig "Superb" which had sailed from Gothenburg. They are noted in the ship manifest to have brought two trunks and one bag of bedding with them.[2]
