Cornelius was born in 1755. Cornelius Jordan married Martha Woodard who was born about 1750 in North Carolina and died bef November 1827 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina.[1]
He passed away in 1791. [2]
Cornelius Jordan Sr., and Cornelius Jordan Jr., and Joshua Jordan are listed near each other in the 1790 United States Federal Census for Cornelius Jordan in North Carolina Edgecombe. [3]
According to his wife's petition dated 29 Nov 1791 asking for her 1/3 right to land, she says he died intestate also, says he is Cornelius Jun and the land was given to him by Cornelius Sr.
His son, Thomas, named a son after Martha Woodard's father, Elisha Woodard, Sr. (1724-1798).[4]
